Kirsty Lee Akers, Rob Black, Liam Brew & Chelsea Basham join forces
The Guys, Girls, Guitars & Bars Tour sees four of country's freshest acts join forces for a series of shows throughout NSW, QLD and VIC commencing in May 2010.
Kirsty Lee Akers is one of Australia's most successful young solo country performers. She's released two very successful albums, which have spawned numerous hit singles. For her young years Kirsty has won a stack of awards, in 2006 she was awarded the Telstra Road To Tamworth Songwriter Award, in 2007 she was the Toyota Star Maker and in 2008 was the recipient of her first Golden Guitar for Best New Talent. Kirsty took a well deserved break from the music business in the second half of 2009 but is now back and looking forward to doing what she loves, getting her music out to the people.
2009 Toyota Star Maker Liam Brew has made a big impact on the country music scene since emerging with his debut album 'Wild Heart' in 2009. The first single from the record, the infectious 'Girls With Girlfriends' scored him a finalist placement in the Maton New Talent of the Year category at this year's CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia. 2009 saw Liam share the stage with some of his musical heroes (Adam Brand, James Blundell, The Sunny Cowgirls.
Rob Black makes a welcome return with his new album, 'Hey Tomorrow' which is the follow-up to 2008's 'Regular Guy'. His debut release featured the Top 10 title track, a remake of the old Masters Apprentices' track 'Turn Up Your Radio' and the true-to-life 'We Have Kids'. A graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Rob was also a 2008 Grand Finalist in the Toyota Star Maker competition.
Chelsea Basham is a new name to the country scene but one you're going to hear plenty about. After touring with Adam Brand in 2009, the 20 year old was a 2010 Grand Finalist in the prestigious Toyota Star Maker talent search. Now based in Sydney, Chelsea has been in the studio with producer Matt Fell (McAlister Kemp, Sara Storer, Butterfly 9, Lianna Rose, Sam Hawksley) working on her debut album. The first single 'Truth About Me', and accompanying video released in April 2010.
